  • Intercity transport: conventional network: SAITEC provides rail engineering services for intercity transport networks. Its clients are Spanish public railway infrastructure managers, as well as construction companies, joint ventures and concessionaires.

  • Freight transport network: Due to its contribution to sustainability and environmental conservation, the railway stands as one of the main alternatives for the future when building a new and more efficient freight transport system.

In this sense, from the outset, SAITEC has been involved in all the stages (planning, design, construction and operation) of projects for freight transport infrastructures: classification stations, container terminals, intermodal stations, dry ports and port rail networks.
Some of the most important projects in which the company has taken part include the Jerez de La Frontera and Bilbao Port freight stations, the multimodal trade platforms of Huesca and Teruel, and the rail networks of Ferrol-San Cibrao and Marin ports.

  • Electric power, signalling, safety and telecommunications systems: SAITEC relies on a highly qualified technical team dealing with the design of systems for rail networks. It is a department inside the company specialising in the following:
    • Power supply installations.
    • Rail signalling (ERTMS, CBTC, ATP/ATO, classic signalling)
    • Fixed and mobile rail communications.
    • Ticket validating and vending systems.

Rail Transport
SAITEC plays a key role in the development of rail transport systems, covering all transport types - High speed rail, intercity passenger and freight rail, metropolitan rail and trams.
The fields of expertise addressed include the following:

  • Train protection and warning systems: ERTMS, ATP-ATO, CBTC, etc.
  • Electrification systems: flexible catenary system, rigid catenary system, catenary-free systems.
  • Traction power substations: DC, AC, ancillary autotransformer stations.
